WHAT IS CBD?
CBD IS SHORT FOR CANNABIDIOL.
CBD (cannabidiol) is a phytocannabinoid derived from the cannabis plant. Cannabis plants began to be cultivated about 10,000 years ago. As time went by, farmers discovered there were two different types of cannabis: the marijuana plant and the hemp plant, which have their own unique benefits.
Historically, the marijuana plant has been farmed for medicinal purposes and has high levels of THC (tetrahydrocannabinol) — while hemp generally has low levels of THC and high levels of CBD. The main difference between THC and CBD, however, is that unlike THC, CBD is non-psychoactive.
